It’s normal to want to change things about ourselves; everyone’s a little self-conscious. But the more we experience life, the more we become conscious of “self”. We develop a heightened awareness of and sensitivity to our own physical, emotional, and intellectual processes and the effects of them – being positive or negative, subtle or substantial.
We begin to recognize what makes up our being – our unique personalities, our pleasures or fears – and tune in to the intricate workings of our bodies and minds.
